Ever since going vegan 2.5 years ago, there was always one thing I dreamt of having in our kitchen. Yes you’ve guessed it -a VITAMIX. Some call it the BMW in the world of blenders while others call it the mother of all blenders; made in the US and carrying a 7 year warrantee, this must have appliance will replace most of your current kitchen appliances and it is dominating in the vegan world.
This amazing beauty came to us unexpectedly while on our weekly shopping in Costco. We contemplated at first, not knowing which one of vitamix machines would be best for us. In the past, I had read several reviews on the subject and found that all vitamix blenders work great. It just boils down to whether or not you want to pay extra for specified features. These features include: variable speed, preset speed and programs as well as what they call S- series, C-series or G-series. Amongst these series all the machines are identical, the only difference is the accompanying accessories and cook books.
We went for the C-series with variable speeds and pre-sets: Vitamix 6300. This machine can be purchased on line for about $610 – $650. In Costco it cost $500; we paid $600 with the discounted shorter container which online would cost around $116 without spatula.
My first impression: The box containing the blender was very light; I expected it to be much heavier. I guess this was due to the fact that the container was surprisingly made of BPA free plastic not glass as I expected it to be. However, it looks very professional and hard core. I am certainly looking forward to being creative in the kitchen with our new addition creating food that will bring us ultimate health and happiness.
